Original Goal

We want students to have condensed yet detailed information laid out in a straight forward format that will provide more facts than those which are currently available to students.

Revised Goal

We created a site that is a supplemental site for any travel program, but with specific links to the BSU International Studies Program. The site will contain brief descriptions of the programs offered through BSU, but will contain a list of links that are useful to anyone who is traveling abroad.

Upon reviewing our interviews, we realized that the information students wanted most was what we found in our links. Thus our site became more of a general overview with useful links easily accessable on every page.

Our design is simple in part because we did not have a "techy" in our group and also in part because it made the site easy to navigate. Photos grasped the attention of our users and provided snippets of scenery and lifestyle in each country. "A picture is worth a thousand words" after all.

One of our major goals that changed is that we didn't concentrate on the academic standpoint as strongly as we'd planned. we didn't go into the classes or credits factors, largely because we decided to cover only two week or month long programs rather than semester length programs as well. Covering the semester length programs as well would be too broad in the limited time allowed. we instead decided to focus more on the actual aspects of travel, such as, for example, we had links to sites with tips such as finding a passport, and sites that told the weather alerts and the current security or safety issues as well, for a wide range of countries and specific regions. Thus, rather than being a site for more experienced travelers we made it somewhat more geared toward more novive travelers. Our "Inexperienced traveler" user profile said the sudent would be "apprehensive about crime in the cities" they would be traveling to.

Images

Our images are relevant because they draw our visitor’s attention to our page, they look good, they load quickly and we have permission from those we obtained the photos from. We haven’t yet set up a page to give credit to those who offered their pictures and testimonies.

Links

Structured to users task flow and needs

Text

Our text has a universal typeface, short line lengths and tight concise paragraphs.
             Compliments supplementary information.

Layout

Designed to draw readers with pictures and give them a quick overview of the length of programs and enable them to access more specific information without clouding our page with excessive information and text.

Homepage

	Loads quickly
	Supplies links
Enables students and parents the opportunity to view a quick summary of the site and enables them to decide if our site is what they are looking for.
	Simple design/contact links

Pictures

Intended captions, but ran into problems putting them underneath the pictures.
