The Northern Student newspaper is staffed entirely by Bemidji State University students. Many of the staff members are Mass Communication majors and minors, but students of every academic major are encouraged to join.

News Department

The News staff is divided into sections including general news, sports, variety, and entertainment. Each section is headed by a editor, overseeing the sections' weekly assignment. The photo editor works closely with each section to provide corresponding photography each week.

Business and Sales Department

The Business and Sales staff at the Northern Student handle ad sales to both local and national organizations, design the ads for placement in the print edition of the paper, control distribution throughout the community, and take care of all billing and payroll.
