Hypertext Essay Project Spend two - three class days introducing hypertext essay via HypertextAndExtendingTheEssay, introducing exploratory the essay and looking at patterns of hypertext. Look at some essays and sites as essays, using some patterns. Then, 3 - 4 weeks on the hypertext essay.

Repurposing into hypertext

Multipage. Similar to the hypertext essay, but more structured and less stylized. Work with a 6 – 10 page document. To start with, cut nothing. Chunking. Task is to find / create a formalized hypertext structure for this – and develop it further. Need to consider the underlying organization to use and how to construct a nav system to show that organization. Later, edit.

Course culminates with a multipage project of your own doing in your own area of expertise: repurpose news, adapt an essay, collection of work, syllabi and support material… Can develop further what you started in another project. Can move to developing materials for education, etc.
