- Start tech editing tutorial: Imagine how the tutorial will be used. As a sheet of paper while shopping? As a pamphlet next to the computer?
- Start drafting your guide
- FormattingRules has all the formatting codes, including colored text and background.
Thurs 29 Nov
- Review of Chap 10, with forays into Chap 18 (Editing) and 20 (Punctuation).
- pace, examples, tone
- Workday. Attendance required.
- Work with and consult Rosenberg as you draft and revise the guide.
Deadlines: Tues 4 Dec: Start of class
- Draft of guide complete, ready for tech editing. Read and comment in class.
- Tech and literary editing of tutorial complete. Ready for final copy editing. See chaps 18 and 20.
- Rough draft of preface, FAQ, or glossary started
Thurs 6 Dec
- Review and commenting on guides for tech and literary editing
- Tech editing
- Keep moving forward. Late means reduced points and less opportunity of feedback and lower grade.
Tues 11 Dec
- Last day of class. Time to work. Course Evaluations. Cookies.
- Before submitting, give your work a final copyediting for sentence construction, concision, spelling, and mechanics.

- Part of what you're learning in this class is How to decide when a technical writing project is complete and ready for distribution. The Rosenberg text will help you decide. Check what you have done against chap 11: Manuals, as well as chap 10 and chap 18.
