Hello World

StyleGuide

Joe's WikiName? page for the Elements course. Here's where Joe will keep a catalogue of her work for this course, using subpage links when appropriate. She might also include some information about herself, links to external sites, and an email link.

Profiile information goes in her Profiles.JoeStudent page.

Why two pages: Profile and Elements.JoeStudent?

It's like a blogger account: You may have a number of weblogs all sharing a common profile page. The wiki profile page is in it's own group. Your wiki home page is attached to a course. Use your course home page to list work you've done and to use SubPages. This set up makes linking to your course-sepecific work easier. It also allows you to create SubPages, hung off your own home page.

Subpages

This is *EmailNotes - a JoeStudent sub-page. It's created by using an * at the beginning of the WikiWord? and enclosing it in double-brackets. [[*EmailNotes]] This is a quick way of attaching a page to another page. The full reference of the page includes the page to which it's attached. That is: JoeStudent*EmailNotes

This means that to link to the subpage from another page, use the full reference and a title: [[JoeStudent*EmailNotes | Joe's email notes]]

Sub-page names must be enclosed in double-brackets. From other pages, you can use the full path in the brackets. See the example on Joe's email notes page.

Signing pages

You can sign pages in a couple of ways.

  • To link to your course home page, just use your wiki name: JoeStudent
  • To sign with your current author name (your profile), use 3 tildes: morgan Use 4 tiildes to time stamp.
